To the McCain Girls


Dear McCain Girls,
 

I laughed at you so much. Old people thinking they’re hip enough to go viral on YouTube? You were bad, hilariously bad. The lame song parody, the shrieking vocals, oh man, it was too much. And then that one lady’s outfit disappeared in the greenscreen. I died.
 

But now it turns out you were fake all along? You aren’t actually McCain supporters but actors. You were just some high-concept video in the mind of some leisure-suit executive at a humor website. Ugh, lame.
 

And what’s the deal, 236? We love you… but couldn’t you have kept the joke going a little longer? Because the McCain girls are only funny if they’re sincere. They’re only funny if we’re laughing at them. As long as they are women who are too fat, too old and too Republican to know they shouldn’t be on the Interwebz, they’re hilarious. But if they’re just actors in another sketch - then, there’s a couple million more people out there just like them.
 

So now for their triumphant second video, you’ve released “Here Comes McCain Again”? Really? What braintrust came up with that one? How many more puns on “rain” will we have to endure before you let the joke die?
 

Hey, how about “Let it McCain” or “Blame it on McCain”? How about “Purple McCain”? No? Think they’re stupid? Exactly.

    I laugh out loud every time I read “Purple McCain.” I would love to see that… even though they aren’t REALLY McCain girls.

    i too died when that one lady disappeared into the greenscreen!! i thought it wouldn’t be as funny knowing what I know now about the fraudulent McCain girls… but it still is. :)
